Windows folder creation surprise

Sometime back my colleague forwarded me a mail saying that we cant create a folder by name “con” in Windows. The mail said it is a great discovery.

Here goes my explanation.

In windows there is something called devices which are inbuilt on the Operating System. This is responsible for INPUT/OUTPUT in Windows OS. Similarly you will find that You would not be able to create folders like “LPT1, LPT2, Aux, Com1, Com2, Com3 etc..
